hasta la vista, baby!

1/3 today we’re going south of the americano border via a flight to Phoenix, on which I had apple juice, probably from Mott’s.

Fox Sports Sky Box (near Gate A5, Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix, Arizona)
American.  D, S, and I flew on a separate flight from J, M, and T but met up at the A-terminal side of the airport. After D and S took off for their flight to destination, the rest of us got lunch. I drank water and ordered the chili cheese fries. I scooped the sour cream blob away because there is no added value to the taste for the additional calories.  The food gave a few of us problems. Overall rating of the food and the taste is fair/poor.

Drank water on the flight to Puerto Vallarta.

and we have arrived.

The Original Pipi’s Restaurant Bar (near Downtown Malecon in Colonia Centro, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico)
Mexican (duh).  We got settled and decided to exchange some currency so that we can get some dinner.  After a bit of bus-riding and wandering by foot, we found a restaurant that Crazy-J (and Y) wanted to revisit.

First, we had freshly-made guacamole and live table-side music.

the salsa is pretty good. we couldn’t stop eating the tortilla chips

One thing to note is that a lot of places carry two types of menus.

During days when cruise ships park at port, the Tourist Menu will be used, which means most prices will be jacked up equivalent to American prices.

$14 for burritos? Only when the Americanos are known to be in town. A few of us got the Burrito de fajitas: Bits of meat and bits of marinated chicken with mushrooms, onions, peppers, rice and refried beans, wrapped in a tortilla, bathed with ranchera sauce and vegetables on the grill, sour cream, guacamole, salsa and Mexican cheese.

I didn’t feel like margarita so I had a bottle of water (Bonafont).

Most of us could not finish our meals

Later that night…

A few blocks down the main road is a supermarket called Gigante. Here are some of the things i found / bought. The “best find” of the entire store is the 3 Litre bottles of Coca Cola. Three Liters!!! and it’s made from real sugar. WOW. I had to lug back two of those home. I got hooked on Penafiel sparkling water and later moved onto harder stuff – flavored sparkling water.

Yes, it’s 3 liters!!
